The Giant is an innovative, multifunctional descender designed to meet the exacting needs of advanced rope access professionals and rescue technicians.
Combining a rugged hot-forged construction with a precision-engineered internal mechanism, the Giant offers outstanding control—even under heavy loads up to 250kg (ideal for two-person rescue scenarios).
While primarily a descender, the Giant stands out for its versatility. It's certified for use as:
- A fall arrest device (especially useful during rope-to-rope transfers)
- An ascender with a smooth, effortless upward glide
- A belay device for climbing applications
This makes it the most comprehensively certified rope tool in its class.
Product Features
- Anti-panic actuating lever: Automatically stops the descent if the user pulls the lever too hard, preventing accidents. It also includes a secondary lock-off position, eliminating the need to tie off the rope manually.
- Cam hold-open button: Allows the cam to remain open, letting the rope glide freely—useful when there is little or no load on the rope.
- Safe rope handling: The device can be opened to insert or remove the rope without disconnecting the karabiner, minimising drop risk. A large attachment hole allows for a second karabiner, which locks the plates shut for added security.
- User-friendly rope path: A clearly marked, circular rope channel—internally and externally—makes rope installation intuitive and foolproof.
