There are a few things you should keep in mind when using tool lanyards:
- Be sure to select a tool lanyard that's appropriate for the tool in question – heavy power tools need stronger tethers!
- Always inspect your tool tether (especially the stitching and connection points) for any signs of damage or abrasion. If in doubt, replace the lanyard with a new one.
- Always connect your tool tether to a reliable anchor point.
- Never attach tool tethers to moveable objects, moving parts or rough edges where they could become cut or frayed.
- Tool tethers are NOT for human fall protection.
- Always be mindful of your tool tether to avoid snagging it as you work.
